Since being admitted to the State Bar of Montana in 1995, Dan has helped thousands of Montanans resolve their financial difficulties. Across the state, Dan mostly represents debtors in Chapter 7 bankruptcy and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases.
As a Missoula bankruptcy attorney, his practice has expanded to include creditor rights and Chapter 11 bankruptcy issues, and in 2021, Dan filed one of the first Montana Subchapter V cases.
During his 25+ years of service to Montanans, Dan has educated other Montana lawyers on bankruptcy law through presentations and lectures at Continuing Legal Education courses around the state. Dan also serves on two committees for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Montana, dealing with both Local Rules and Local Forms.
For the past three years, US News & World Report has honored Dan as one of The Best Lawyers in America, and in 2020, Best Lawyers named Dan as Missoula’s Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year.
Prior to attending law school at the University of Montana, Dan was a sports journalist in Maryland and in Montana. He and Rachel have four children, a daughter-in-law and four pets to keep them busy outside of work.

Rachel first came to Montana in her teens and immediately felt a great affection for the people of this beautiful state. Since that first visit, she has helped the people who build their lives here by volunteering, mentoring, and being involved in her community.
Rachel began her professional career as an educator, acquiring two Bachelors degrees from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado and a Masters in English Literature from the University of Montana. After ten years of teaching English, directing theatre, and a career as an award-winning, published author, Rachel transitioned to working in bankruptcy law with her husband, Dan.
Rachel has worked in Missoula bankruptcy law since 2009 and attended law school at the University of Montana, Alexander Blewett III School of Law. She graduated in May 2017 and was admitted to the state and federal bar later that same year. Rachel focuses her practice on Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Chapter 13 bankruptcy and is expanding her practice to include Chapter 11 Subchapter V.
Besides being a lawyer, Rachel loves being the mother of a son, three daughters, and a daughter-in-law. When Rachel and Dan are not working, they are spending time with family, pets, and friends.

Daniel fills many roles at Morgan Law Offices. He is our webmaster, our advertising authority, and client specialist.
His work experience spans the globe, from Antarctica to the plains of Kansas. With this experience comes great knowledge and compassion. His dedication to client needs and understanding of the challenges facing many is what makes him an integral part of the Morgan Law Offices Team.
When Daniel is not working alongside Dan and Rachel, he is exploring Missoula with his wife and two daughters, and their dog – Otter.
